The first Russian-German Innovation Forum "Energy 2020: Ideas, technologies and services." was held on July 10 2012 in Moscow. Particular attention was paid to strengthening cooperation between Russia and Germany in the field of energy efficiency.
Heike Peitsch, head of the Department of Economics and Science of German Embassy in Russia identified the importance of such issues as energy efficiency, energy supply, and energy saving. These issues are the most important tasks for Germany for more than 40 years. Heike Peitsch said that the forum will provide a strong and lasting relationship between our countries.
In turn, Jeroen Ketting, Chairman of the EE Committee of AEB, named the development of venture capital investment as one of the most perspective and efficient directions for Russia among other advantages of European cooperation. The expenses for achieving the designated goals in energy efficiency in Russia were significantly lower than costs in Germany in 2010, which is already well developed in this field. He also suggested that the next 10 years subsidies, benefits, long-term loans for EE development are not expected in our country. Therefore, it is important to make maximum use of existing tools. Great potential for energy consumption reduction in buildings can be realized by the introduction of simple solutions, such as insulation materials, energy efficient heating and cooling systems, intelligent lighting control systems, smart meters and energy efficient appliances.
Maksim Grishin, head of the Russian program ECB company Bayer, spoke about the implementation of package energy efficiency solutions - several European projects of social and commercial spheres. Low-rise construction project with the use of alternative technologies (LED, heat pumps, solar heating systems, sun protection systems, a fundamentally new system of insulation etc) was presented in Russia. The use of these technologies have a significant impact on the final quality of the building.
Other speakers (from companies: "REA", the National Alliance of Energy Saving, "GBO - Energeffect", "Russintek," SC "NefteGazTop", Engex, «INTECH», Uponor, Stiebel Eltron, Profine RUS, ThyssenKrupp Bausysteme GmbH, Ltd. Essmann Rus, «Termopir", etc.) discussed the status of legislation in the field of EE and the need to make changes in it, a variety of tools, barriers to implementation of EE technologies, and inefficiency of energy audits for Energy Passports. The issues of certification in the field of EE were also highlighted. Forum participants learned about the newly established training centers: for energy-efficient equipment operation, renewable energy professionals, certification and simulation centers; and the union "Altenit", engaged in the development of smart buildings, electric vehicles and intelligent networks.
Strengthening the cooperation of the Russian Federation and Germany plays an important role in the field of EE. German experience will allow to bring Russia on energy efficient path of development and reduce the energy intensity of domestic economy by 40% in 2020. The plans are to create a permanent platform of dialogue of Russian and German experts in the field of EE, develop measures to create a favorable investment climate, eliminate a number of system errors and shortcomings in the legal provision of energy saving.
Forum participants hope that the cooperation with leading German companies will make significant progress in energy efficiency and energy conservation.
