27.06.2012 Smart House opens in Nizhny Novgorod

      The grand opening of a semi-autonomous energy-efficient "Smart House" house was held in Nizhny Novgorod on June 27, 2012. The house is situated in Business Center "BugrovBiznesPark". Board members from RuGBC and the local Government as well as the head of GreenStroi and other NGOs were invited to cut the ribbon.

          After the ceremonial opening of the house many technologies were presented:

- Heating and domestic hot water: ground and solar thermal energy, bio-mass boiler;

- Heat recovery systems;

- Power: micro-wind turbines and PV panels;

- Lighting: LEDs and light tubes.

     This demonstration house and training center is designed to raise awareness in the field of energy saving technologies using renewable energy sources, as well as evidence of their effectiveness in the Russian regions. A round table was held following the opening. RuGBC Board member Maxim Grishin and CEO Guy Eames congratulated the owners and expressed an interest to work with them long term.
